Foundational fitness and functional movement training focuses on core stability, core strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance with a focus on movements required for daily living. This training helps us live our daily lives with greater confidence, ease, and safety.
Hi! I'm Michelle Sheppard, owner of Balience Wellness. I am a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).
Balience Wellness was born from a desire to foster well-being in myself and others. My own journey, filled with years of striving and neglect of my physical and mental health, led me to this place and point in time. My hope and dream for the future is to be an active 90 + year old, able to travel, hike, bike and sit on the ground with my grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
I have learned over the past decade some keys to my health and well-being: regular functional movement which is kind to my body; time in nature; whole, natural foods; quality sleep and hormone balance. But I also know that my health is a journey, I learn daily more about the needs of my mind, body and spirit.
Through health and wellness coaching, yoga coaching, personal yoga instruction, and personal training, I seek to help others in this journey toward balanced lifestyle choices, enhanced physical and mental resilience and greater joy!
Balience Wellness blends "balance" with "resilience". Our lifestyle choices have significant impact on our physical and mental health. Through Balance (a condition in which different elements are in the correct proportions), we can develop greater Resilience (capacity to recover quickly from difficulties) both physically and mentally. This leads to Wellness and Well-Being!
